Honeywell air conditioning products make homes more energy efficient while improving the quality of indoor air.
Since the 1940s, the refrigerant known as R-22 has been widely used around the globe. However, due to discovery of its ozone-depletion qualities, its use was banned around the world in 2010.
Researchers at this company have been working for 15 years to develop an alternative to R-22. They have led the way for manufacturers to develop more environmentally friendly, safer cooling systems. The AZ-20, R410-A and 407C refrigerants have been developed as effective alternatives. They have minimal impact upon the planet’s stratospheric ozone layer. Today, small business owners, consumers, and home builders have healthier and more efficient refrigeration and cooling options available to them.
Genetron AZ-20 was developed by scientists at Honeywell. It is an effective replacement for the ozone-depleting R-22 in cooling systems, including residential and light-industrial complexes. It is formed from an azeotropic blend of HFC (Hydrofluorocarbon)-125 and HFC-32. It has been incorporated into R-410A systems around the world. In addition to providing energy-efficient, environmentally friendly cooling, these systems are relatively simple to service in the field. The Genetron AZ-20 has been designated with an A1 safety rating by the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers).
Genetron 407C is ideal for residential use. It uses a non-ozone-depleting blend of HCF-134a, HCF-125, and HCF-32. This model is a similar match to the pressure and performance specifications of the older R-22 systems. As a result, it can effectively be retro-fitted into applications which were originally designed for the R-22. As with the Genetron AZ-20, the 407C has been classified in the A1 safety category by members of the ASHRAE.
Honeywell air conditioning products have helped to revolutionize the industry. In addition to functioning as effective and energy-efficient cooling systems, their components have low impact on the environment. These units are ideal for residential, office, and light industrial settings.
